Well you'll need to get quotes from a number of landscapers. Get testimonials, look at their work first.Bear in mind there will be natural flaws ie colour fluctuations in each batch. There are a lot of very thin slabs on the market so beware. Are you looking at Indian Sandstone?

There are a lot of factors to consider when pricing up the job.

• Removal and disposal of old slabs ( freecycle them? and substrate)
  
• The slabs
  *again substrate: sand and gravel.
  *cement
  
• grout, the best ones are ready mixed and cost a fortune but give great results,.
  *hire of machinery, may need whacker.
  *Labour
  
  The slabs alone are likely to cost a small fortune.
  These people are importers and are competitively priced.

£1400 for top level
£500 ish for sand/mortar/bits and bobs..
£120 a day for landscaper
£80 for labourer
Patio that size is about 10- 12 man days - £1000 minimum...


So a minimum estimate without any "tricky bits" would be about £3000...

Shadow , I was thinking about that figure. There is natural stone and there is very expensive natural stone. That said it is often cheaper than a lot of slabs ,you might get a bit of blooming, that is salts rising to the surface but this washes off. You can seal the slabs.
The substrate is the hardcore, sand and gravel, sharp sand. It isn't all that costly and if it is well compounded it may only need a few inches replacing. .

forgotten skip hire £290

all things being equal around £5000

Not that its easy to secure a job for quality products people just don't realize how much things cost.

But customer can always go for budget paving :/ £3.00 a slab labour is still labour though

E.g 150' garden new perimeter fencing all 3 sides (Feather Edge + Gate framed ledged and braced) 65sq metre sandstone patio remove existing patio and large old deck and brick built shed - fit some decking (only 3' x 30') lift and relay part of driveway to insert driveway gully, 2 x 30' sleeper beds to rear garden and turf repair existing steps oh and paint a concrete wall £12,000 16days hard graft. But customer shocked at price???

10-12 man days, not 10-12 days. Circa £200 a day for landscaper and labourer x 5-6 days for the team of 2 = £1000-£1200 labour. Shouldn’t even take that long to do a patio that size.
