Hi everyone, I'm new here... :)
Not sure if this is in the right category but does anyone know anything / have an opinion on having a large garden party when you rent your house? I should point or from the start that we live in the countryside and have a very big garden! I've looked at the tenancy agreement and all I can find is a bit relating to acceptable noise levels, nothing about numbers of people etc.
We spoke initially to our landlady (it's run by a couple in their 60s/70s) and she said it was a lovely idea (he wasn't in). But he is generally more hard-ball than she is and I'm not sure they realise the size of the party.
We're going to write to them today to share the following details:
45 people for lunch
30 people joining later for food and music (so 75 total)
Catered barbecue
2 small marquees
A band 7-9pm - probably accoustic
If anyone could let me know if we're way out of line I'd be really grateful, or if you could suggest ways to "spin" the news! In general we are really good tenants - rent is of course always paid on time and we've done a lot of tidying up of the building and gardens.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you :)
