Recent house buyers in Bellingham SE London??

Hi!
We have recently bought a property in Bellingham in SE London and wondering if there are other moms here in the area?
After my initial doubts about the area we have been really positively surprised about what Bellingham has to offer. The children's services are amazing. There is always something going on in the Sure Start children's centre: baby massage, breastfeeding café, food explorers...and the under 5s play area in the park is also really good. Plus it seems to be a relatively quiet and safe family area (especially when compared to Brixton where we used to live!)
Would be really nice to know the experiences of other new movers.

Hi MsAnneka,

How are you finding Bellingham? Similar to you, I have sold my property in Brixton and have had an offer accepted on a 3 bed 1930's property on Bellingham Road. How are your experiences of the area so far? Personally I do love Brixton culture but as you know you get more for your money moving out. Do you find Bellingham has enough to offer?

Thanks

Hi there,
Yes, we've been here over 2 years now and still really like it. In hindsight it seems a better fit for a family with small kids than Brixton. It's very quiet, green, gardens are big and full of fruit trees.
Our kids aren't old enough to go to school yet, but I know the Cherry Blossom pre-school and Heseltine primary school are both outstanding so that's comforting to know. The only thing I miss is a good coffee shop, but the Rascals soft play centre has an ok café and the new retail park next to Saisnbury's has a costa so hopefully we're getting there sometime soon :-)
When are you looking to move? All the best with the whole house-buying process!

Hi MsAnneka,

Thanks for responding and for your kind sentiments. Great to hear you are enjoying the area too. I will be moving within the next 6-8 weeks and at this point I am really excited to be honest. I would love if more coffee and tea shops popped up. However its not a deal breaker. I am just pleased I can upsize from a 2 bed flat to a 3 bed house which according to the Evening Standard 2 weeks ago, is becoming pretty difficult to do. Nonetheless Catford has soooo much growth potential so it can only get better.

Thanks again soon to be neighbour!
