Getting the door panel off an integrated dishwasher?

The poor old dishwasher died so we're getting a new one. We've removed the old one but cannot for the life of us get the front kitchen panel off. There are 2 recessed screws, which the magic of youtube tells us will release springs holding the door. They have a hexagon-shaped screwhead. We tried various allen keys but they just won't budge or turn.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for unfastening these sneaky screws?

TIA

Ours was quickly removed with normal Philips screwdriver by repairman I assume no normal screws on the inside of the door to be undone? Have you tried you tube?

Sorry just seen that you have tried you tube!

problem solved - I tried a normal flat head that was the right fit across the hexagon, much very hard pushing and screwing Blush and it's off. Have earned massive brownie points from dh who tried and couldn't do it!! Grin

for future reference...

hexagonal allen keys may be metric (in mm) or imperial (in fractions of an inch) mostly on older stuff, so may not fit.

There are also Torx drivers which are splined.

If you are fond of DIY and self-assembly you can pick up a box of screwdriver bits and a handle for about £9.99 and it will have maybe 40 different ones. The bits wil normally also fit a cordless drill or electric screwdriver if you have one. A "T" handle is very useful if you need to apply enormous power. Ratchet handles are more common but I clumsy people sometimes break them with a recalcitrant screw.
