I would second Dracott & Fennemore have moved with them a few times. They were too busy to do my last move though so we used Kiwi Movers who were slightly more expensive but even slightly better.

We've used a firm called Dracott & Fennemore www.drafen.com a couple of times and I have a friend who used them to move to the US. We both couldn't speak more highly of them! smile

Had a coffee with a friend yesterday who tells me they have moved from Shepperton towards Heathrow but still cover the entirety of London & south...

Do not ever use Luxfords - I did recently off the back of mumsnet reviews. They were awful, packing shoddy and lazy, boxes not labelled and no inventory, lots of furniture has been damaged - chipped and scrapped.

The crew they used did not know anything about moving furniture, very in experienced.

It was like Laurel and Hardy moving us - furniture not dismantled, and banged down the stairs. It was an easy move for them and they were not the cheapest.

I have used Pickfords before and Crown removals - probably more expensive - but no headaches and will be using them if we move again.

Highly recommend QuickSilver transport. They are very good value and professional, hard working, really nice guys.

We used Porters Removals in Woking for a local move and they were very good.

Whatever you do, do NOT use Bisley Removals - upon causing damage to our wardrobe, when we mentioned insurance, the boss Mr Grainger arrived and proceeded to have a shouting match on the phone with my partner, then stormed out to the street, yelling at me, intimidating me and then demanding to offload our goods and demanded 1000GBP cash from me! I have moved countless times internationally and never been assaulted verbally by a removalist company like this in my life! They offloaded goods, and after departing, I discovered further damage to items of furniture. A very unprofessional bunch of farmers who appear on the surface to be legitimate however I have my doubts. I have reported them to the Trading Standards and am still recovering from the verbal abuse!

I have used clockwork two weeks ago' . it was a nightmare! we went for an expensive company hoping to have a good service. Well everything went wrong. I am still dealing with them as a lot of items were damaged. e.g they wrapped my expensive mirrors in papers! honestly! Also they arrive late at my new house.. and they were trying to charge me more money!

We used Clockwork to move us out if Surrey and they were fantastic. They weren't the cheapest quote but nor were they the most expensive.

We used F Smith and Son (based in Croydon). They were great and very friendly/efficient (we used their packing service).

We're just about to use Luxfords for the third time in 2 yrs - prob not the cheapest but very good and reliable and we get the same guys each time who know remember us and our stuff quite well!

It's sort of half way between the two, but Moving Matters www.moving-matters.co.uk/ were excellent and v competitive when we moved twice in 6 months. Good packing service too.

A friend recommended Bisley removals to me.

Depends on you're definition of cheap really, not sure you'll really cheap, honest and reliable as good companies will charge a fair price. Having said that, we have used Marshall and mackintosh three times in two years (don't ask!) and found them reasonable (got other quotes each time which were comparable or more expensive) and they were brilliant. Turned up on time, worked hard, polite and helpful and looked after our stuff.

We are (hopefully!) moving from Surrey to Bucks in about 4 weeks, an anyone recommend a good (cheap, honest + reliable smile) removals company in either of those areas?

Thanks!
