Vinyl in a bedroom?

I had the idea put to me last night, I'd never have thought of it before!

DS and I have asthma, i suspect he has an issue with dustmites. We have laminate in the flat apart from bedrooms (very old ugly carpets), I wanted laminate for his bedroom so I feel like I can let him play on the floor! But, I live in a flat and the noise from upstairs' toddler drives me potty, apparently vinyl is better sound wise? And a bit softer I'd he falls!

Will this look ok? I was thinking of the wood look stuff in planks.

we have it in our toddler DS's room, the stuff that looks like pale wood floorboards, looks fine, little noise and feels warmer than laminate too.

Good idea, you can get some crazy vinyls too that could look really cool in a kids room Grin

My dd has vinyl flooring with a wool underlay which is brill(there are other underlays if it may bother asthma although I'm asthmatic and it's actually been ok) which dulls the sound. She chose the pattern which is white with what looks like squiggles of black. It's brilliant as if she plays with toys and younger children it's a good surface and when she and her friends(she's 13 on wednesday) I no longer have to worry about lippy or powder on the floor as it cleans off.
Best decision ever to put it in there and considering for our bedroom

He's so mucky, the floors need washed about 3 times a day sigh not including when he's no nappy on and goes looking for a place to have a wee so very reassuring!

Thinking of a darker colour for slightly less upkeep, you can see even a speck of dirt on the laminate and it drives me mad! Ill get two for him to choose between lol then he can't whinge!

I love the industrial looking vinyl - grey/silver colour with raised circles. Looks like step treads to a dumper truck (really crap at describing things Grin )

Oops, also meant to say theres no reason why you can't have vinyl in a bedroom. Maybe add a washable rug if it looks/feels cold but most vinyl nowadays is warm underfoot.

Look at this one!

I spotted it in B&Q and it made me wish DS had his own room, it's awesome!

I had black stone looking vinyl in my bedroom where we used to live and loved it, so easy to clean.

My son, also asthmatic and severe allergies has a lino floor for several years - brilliant, easy to clean and update as and when, we had wood effect with small rug over, it looked great. But I do love the one Margery saw in B and Q - brilliant for little lads.

Only bringing up the vinyl page, is it the road one? It's on the main page but can't find the product page!!

He's only just getting his room, he's nearly 17m so time to leave my bed!

He's always been going to have a jungle but is obsessed with cars sooo tempting.

Yes, the road one! Mines is obsessed with cars too (19 months), which is why I wished he had his own room so he could get that.

I could try and find the product page for you if you want? They definitely have it in store though as that's where I seen it. :)

We'll take a wander down tomorrow if its sunny!

I'm lucky I moved into a 2 bed place not long before I got pregnant but the room is a state and I've not had the money to sort it, sick of no space anywhere though so cheap vinyl it is!
