I had an air test carried out after asbestos floor tiles removal. An air test had been done but I need help in interpreting the results. Please can anyone help. I've already spoken to the asbestos company but he did not explain too well.

I am not an expert by any means, but I have had asbestos tiles removed by a licensed contractor. We never had air clearance testing - my understanding was that tiles are generally low-risk and this wasn't needed?

You could call the Health and Safety Executive for some guidance?

What are the results? And what's the contractor recommending?

I agree they are considered low risk and contain the least serious type of asbestos.

We also had an air check after having asbestos walls removed but I couldn't tell you much about it other then the results were fine. What did the company say to you?

The air test carried out following the removal of asbestos vinyl floor tiles is called Reassurance Test. This is done to show that any asbestos fibre release in the air is below the control limits set by the HSE in this case they should be below

Two pumps were used in the room. Both collected 480 litres of air in 60 minutes. Do I combined the two readings from the two samples to get a total result or was it two individual results from two samples?

You shouldn't be doing the analysis, they should! That's what you paid them for, surely? Give em a call back and ask for an explanation.

The air flow pumps give individual readings, you only combine the two when the analyst runs the pumps for 30 mins each.
What were the results?
