Flat garage roof needs demossing question & have you had professionals in to demoss the house roof?

Think we should remove the moss from the flat garage roof as there is quite a lot now and when it rained so much last year it can't have helped can it? Anyone done it themselves? Wondering how safe it would be to walk on.

Also have you had your house roof demossed or cleaned? A lot of people have round us but I am concerned that it could result in damaged tiles and it always looks bleached so not good look, but more to the point is it really necessary?

you can use a chemical called Armatillox out of a watering can.

The more you disturb your roof the sooner it will leak.

I deduce that either it has insufficient slope and water is not running off, or it gets little sun so stays wet.

The roofers I know recommend rubber sheet rather than felt when relaying, but the board deck must be flat and smooth.

Thanks PigletJohn. Wonder if I should leave it alone then. Just the pools of water last summer had me concerned. Think the moss was so much that it couldn't run off. Don't know where it all came from as the house roof is practically moss free.
