Red brick house.what colour woodwork?

livvyliv · 24/01/2013 11:14

Looking to paint the exterior woodwork(and garage door) of my red brick house.do you think f&b ball green would go or something more off white /cream?
ATM I have white woodwork and a black door.the red brick isn't particularly nice and the find the white makes it appear brighter.
Anyone good with colours would really appreciate your thoughts

my friend's old red brick house has F&B Mouses Back, looks great, and a bit different from the very popular grey/green that's everywhere

It depends on the type of red bricks. Where are you in the country? Suffolk red brick looks lovely with Pigeon.

And what sort of style and age of house?

Any chance of a photo of the house?

It's a detached 1930s house up in northeast.its just your average boring red brick, nothing nice about about it really.kitsmummy what colour has she painted the front door.?
As well as the woodwork need to paint, door, garage door and front wall.
Not sure if to do all one colour or if that's too much.
Any ideas?
Thanks so far

Just looked at mouses back- that's quite a dark colour but would be interested to see what it looks like.was thinking of something a little lighter

black and white.

black sills and outers with white frames and inners.

that's the style i've seen most on 1930s houses and it really suits the colour and style of the house.

The red brick is similar to the 2nd link-green door.not keen on the bottle green.maybe I should stay away from greens and just go off white/cream.thanks for looking though.keep the ideas coming

i didn't mean you should go bottle green, it was more to show what the paintworkl would look like in green shades rather than white.

the green i was thinking was more of a sage green.
