Could someone lend me about £800k so that I could buy it and do some work on it, that would be grand.

It even has servant quarters

We could buy it together, ThatDude.

I want to slide down the bannister.

MsIngaFewmarbles Mon 26-Nov-12 19:28:12

It has 2 staircases. I've always wanted a house with 2 staircases. And a butlers pantry envy

shhhgobacktosleep Mon 26-Nov-12 19:29:33

It's beautiful but the ceiling in the lounge photo looks identical to the one in our period house which turned out to be asbestos and the thought of that would put me off sad

MmeLinrod Mon 26-Nov-12 19:31:42

Just discovered the plans. It has a butler's pantry, and a larder!

I am going to play the lottery this week.

It is quite a good price (unless it is full of asbestos)

It's lovely and so reasonable for the size. I'd love a turret or two.

But it needs shed loads to be spent on it, so I'm oot.

NoMoreMarbles Mon 26-Nov-12 19:38:24

It's lovely smile needs loads of decorating/sprucing up so it doesn't look like an old lady's handbag inside...but the bare bones of the house are's worth 10 times the value of my house sad

MollyMurphy Mon 26-Nov-12 19:40:51

I agree the bare bones are beautiful - not to mention the view!

Try to comfort yourself by thinking of how much work a house that big would be. Imagine the gardening! wine

RobinSparkles Mon 26-Nov-12 19:43:40

That's my house! We're selling it because we need somewhere bigger.

In my dreams...

MikeLitoris Mon 26-Nov-12 19:46:13

Can i ask the whole of mn to chip in a tenner each for my new house

Pretty please.

JudeFawley Mon 26-Nov-12 19:46:14

'Old lady's handbag' really made me laugh.

Is it an OAP home? It looks like a day centre or something.

RobinSparkles Mon 26-Nov-12 19:48:06

I'll send you 10p, Mike!

PinkPussyCat Mon 26-Nov-12 19:52:34

I've been watching too much Crickley Hall... all that wood panelling

But granted, it is beautiful

NoMoreMarbles Mon 26-Nov-12 19:52:39

I think I win grin

I would de-lady-handbag it thus

My house looks like the inside of an old lady's handbag.

Northernlurker Mon 26-Nov-12 19:57:38

That house needs a lot of work. I think a doctor or two from ninewells will be interested though.

MikeLitoris Mon 26-Nov-12 19:58:16

<pockets 10p> it all helps.

DowagersHump Mon 26-Nov-12 20:07:01

Ooh no! That last house you linked to has had the soul ripped out of it! I have an arts and craft house and it's all a bit dusty and weird colours and modern stuff just looks utterly wrong in it.

That kind of thing makes the baby jesus cry MmeL.

<I smell of parma violets don't I?>

Devora Mon 26-Nov-12 20:08:37

Lovely! But... it is in Dundee grin

I even like the retro kitchen.

I can only imagine what the Campden Hill one costs.... £30m?

MmeLinDude Mon 26-Nov-12 20:10:09

It would look different once it had furniture in it.

I love clean and uncluttered (which you would never know, looking at the anaglypta walls and the fringed lamps in my house).

MmeLinDude Mon 26-Nov-12 20:11:41

Nothing wrong with Dundee, Devora <hard stare>

You lot would LOVE my kitchen

NoMoreMarbles Mon 26-Nov-12 20:16:25

£65 million!! it looks like Hugh Hefner barfed all over it!
