boiler heating water but not radiators
(8 Posts)hi,i have a normal (not combi) baxi boiler
it is firing up and producing hot water but will not fire up or heat the radiators
any ideas would be great
Has it got any sort of error message/code coming up? It could be the divertor valve has gone, or is the thermostat faulty? Try putting a bag of frozen peas on the thermostat to make sure it the temp os cold enough that the heating should come on.
ive just noticed when you hit the switch for the hot water to come on a light comes on with boiler written underneath then it fires up and all other lights light up in sequence and all good
when you hit the heating switch NO boiler light comes on at all
tried the hall stat it clicks bt dosent fire up when it should
Think unfortunately you might need someone out to this one then. When this happened to me it was the diverter valve but depends on your boiler. You could try googling the model to see if you can get a copy of the manual? Also you might find other people have put up info about it if it is a common problem for your boiler.
thank you
Yes - I was thinking diverter valve. Try running off some of your hot water and then see if the heating comes on.
We were quoted £170 to have ours fixed, so I hope your's won't be as much as that.
Anyone at home handy with DIY? I'm actually a gas engineer and could talk someone through a few simple checks?
salty
last night i left the heating on (obviously no heat) anywa 2hrs later it came on
