Engineered wood floor - fitting

I want to fit an engineered wood floor throughout hall, living room and dining room.

I don't want to remove the skirting boards. Some companies advertise that they cut the skirting boards to allow the boards to fit under. Has anyone had this done and was it successful?

Also, has anyone used the fitting services advertised by companies such as UK Flooring or similar and were they any good, or should I look for a local carpenter?

Any recommendations for suppliers/fitters in the Bath / Bristol area would be gratefully received.

Thank you

We had ours laid by the local flooring company we bought it from. I don't remember it being that much more than the cost of the floor, and they did it whilst we were on holiday. We stress free.

Good idea - going on holiday while it'd done grin

Did they undercut your skirting boards or remove them?

They went up to the skirting boards and put a bevelled edge all around the rooms. And dinky little biscuit things round the radiator pipes.

Thanks - I know the method you've described
