How much to lay stone floor?

Sorry to turn in to a kitchen bore-off - we're just trying to sort budget out.

Builder has quoted c£50 per square metre. We're not looking at a tricky mosaic or anything, just fairly big tiles (not flagstone).

Can anyone comment. Will a tile shop do it for cheaper?

Thanks

Doesn't sound too bad although it's probably as much as you would want to pay.

Tiling ranges from around £35 to £55 psqm. This for a decent tiler and to include prepping the surface, adhesive and grout and sealer if laying natural stone or terracotta. And obviously laying the tiling. But not the actual tiles themselves.

Hope that makes sense.

What is the £50 for?

£50 per sqm is the labour cost for installing tiles.
