We're wanting to get some work done on our house. My friend had some done and she was happy with her builder so he's been round to quote. I've been told by a good friend who is an experienced retired builder that his quote is reasonable and we're now drawing up a schedule of work.
At this stage what questions do I need to be asking him? I was planning on using the contract template on the federation of master builders website. Should I be asking to see his insurance?
I'm quite scared of being ripped off and want to do everything right to minimise the chance of this happening. Any advice?
