DH says no, I say yes. What do y'all think?

Why not, if you'll enjoy it?

I have one! I think it looks great and I love saying - we're the house with the red door. Instantly recognisable and I would do it again!

I guess it all depends on tone. But my knee-jerk reaction is no, sorry.

Red front doors look amazing on red brick houses! Especially with white surrounds and window sills/frames. Either that or very dark navy blue. I have a red brick house and I am trying to decide which to go for. Smile

Oooh..That navy blue would be lovely too but our garage and shutters are black so that wouldn't work (I think?). Our house is a bit like this one (3rd post down) from your google search mummyshappypills...I think the red looks fab with the cream trim.

Thanks for all your replies Smile.

I grew up in a red brick house with a red front door, it looked lovely, made a change from all the blue and dark green doors around us.

We have a red brick house and for me, red would be one of my least favourite choices for the door colour. Ours is currently white but I'd like to paint it dark blue or sage green at some point.

DH's uncle and aunt have a fuschia pink door on a red brick house. It looks ace. Red is fine too though.

We do, on our own house - we're in a rented house at the moment. I used to like saying we were the house with the red door. Just pick the right shade of red, it'll look great!

Jel. We have a little 2 up-2 down terrace! Grin

Yeah I reckon. A nice wine red to blend with the more vermillion brick tone. My folks have that... I'm both biased and pinching their initiative.

I would go for scarlet.

Thanks All. I'm going to go for it. Red makes me happy Smile.
