I would really like one of these these with gas hob and electric oven.

Anyone got one and can recommend them?

Watching with interest.
Torn between a range cooker or a double eye level oven with built in hob.......

I have a gas Rangemaster with 5 burners and 2 gas ovens and an electric hotplate. It is in a rented house so I have no choice but I would change it if I owned the house.

I find it hard to clean the hob and I find the oven is not good for cakes.

Ah, that is interesting, Beta. Would like electric oven cause I find gas not so good for baking.

Personally, I would go for 4 induction hobs set in the work top and separate double electric fan ovens stacked up with a microwave at eye level.

I have a rm professional ( dual fuel) and love it. I'm a keen cook but not so up on my baking -apparently the lack of option to turn the fan off is an issue for keen bakers. For everything else, though, it's brilliant.

Electric ovens are definitely favoured by bakers.

MoreBeta
The range would lend a bit of wow factor to the kitchen, and would suit the planning better - otherwise the oven is on the other side of the kitchen to the hob.

Is it badged with the word 'leisure'? If so I have the same as MoreBeta. It's my second one and not a patch on the one they made about 15 years ago.
I don't have a problem with cleaning, probably because I am used to the style of hob. BUT I did buy an oven thermometer for baking Sad and find it's better to turn baking half way through.

We have a Rangemaster Pro, which is pretty much the same as that one but it has a multi-function main oven. We love the arrangement of the rings, with the wok ring on the right. Most have it in the middle, which IMHO is a pain. The multi function oven means you can bake better cakes (the one you've linked to only has fan ovens) although the grill is a bit rubbish.

We had a range when we bought the house so the kitchen was redesigned around it. I do like it and it looks great but if I was starting from scratch I'd have twin ovens in a tall unit and a separate hob.

MoreBeta - the oven on the rangemaster is electric but you don't have the option to turn the fan off. Apparently some bakers don't like this because the temp is too even. For most cooking though, even is the way to go!

It was invented by leisure and aga brought leisure out a few years ago - I have a feeling that some of the parts are now made in eastern EU and not of the same standards that they were when they were made in the Midlands.

I have an original leisure cooker from 22 years ago and the same innerds were used for all the ovens back then just different outsides on around the ovens put on the outside and alternative controls etc.

We have just been looking at that one.

Why would you be looking to move away from the range idea?

I have a Rangemaster Professional which is very similar to that - gas burners and electric ovens. Have had it about 10 years and still love it.

When we moved here the house had an induction hob (which I hated with a passion!) and a tower with oven/grill/microwave in. This looks and performs much better imo.

harbingerofdoom/libelle - I too find that I have to keep turning cakes round as they bake and also that the oven temp was lower than than the gas mark suggested so I put my cakes on the shelf slightly above half way up the oven to compensate.

I am getting used to using it now and bake cakes, bread, tarts in it virtually every day - they come out nice now I have figured out how to adjust. An electric oven may well be better but I would like the option to turn off the fan. The gas hob works well - I just don't like having to clean it. Would prefer a flat glass induction or even the infra red hob I had in my old house.

Nobody likes cleaning! I grew up with a gas hob and prefer a gas hob.
The only time I've had a flat surface has been in holiday cottages.

I'm not a fan of cleaning but not keen on the ceramic hobs either.

I love my range master
5 gas burners & an electric plate
2 big ovens & grill.
I find it very easy to clean, always tons of room. Looks stylish..love it. 5 years old & good as the day we got it

I have had mine (the electric double oven type) for 15 years and love it.
It's still easy to get spares for and the only replacements I have needed are a new element for the fan oven plus a light.

The non fan oven tends to cook the food unevenly but the fan oven does even cooking. Four hob type rings, a griddle and a plate warmer. Very easy to clean.
I've just taken the doors to bits and it is off being sprayed a different colour.

ooh, hurrah. Am so glad that people like them.

We are going for the stainless steel one, GO. But the idea of being able to respray in a different colour is great.

Mme Mine is stainless steel too.

I forgot to mention that I love the rack on the inside of the oven door so your joint, chicken, etc swings out when the door opens and you don't have to reach into a hot oven to check it.

I also love the griddle that sits over 2 burners on the hob for steaks and stuff. It came with a wok stand too so your wok doesn't fall off the big burner (the fact I don't have a wok is immaterial!)

I have a black painted one and I do think a stainless steel one might well be a good idea - easier to clean.

Yes, I like the wipe down feature of the stainless steel one
