Ok, we're supposed to complete on Friday... we only viewed the property once (back in April!) and my overwhelming sense was lots of scope but lots of work needed.
Anyway. The kitchen. I remember it's wood. A light colour wood, not the kind I like but in good condition. The actual kitchen is 15' 4" x 6' 2" so galley, with cabinets all down one length (with space for the cooker) then across the width at the top with a space for the fridge/freezer (the sink is as you enter the room across the width).
Pretty sure we're laying walnut wood floor through the whole of the ground floor including the kitchen and I'm thinking about what to do with the rest of it.
I'm thinking about painting the cabinets. When I say I'm thinking of it, I mean I'm thinking of employing someone to do it!
I know I'll need to get a few quotes but I'm wondering if any of you have had something similar done and times scales involved (and cost!).
I'm thinking pale grey (possibly elephants breath although how I'll squeeze an elephant in to exhale all over my kitchen I'm not sure ) cabinets and a pale worktop (we have a friend in the quartz business so it'd be silly not to go with that as we'll get it dirt cheap!) - how does this sound with a dark floor?
(this is my first house - always lived in flats, and always lived with what was there rather than being in a position to do stuff myself so forgive me if I sound a bit of a novice... it's because I am one!).
Depending on cost and time scale we may just replace the doors/drawer fronts... but with what? Hmm.
