Would polished porcelain on the floor be too slippery?

We have just ordered the new bathroom suite and now need to find tiles. The nicest I've seen are polished porcelain. Will this be slippery and dangerous in a bathroom?

Yes, for sure, too dangerous.

even a matt-ish tile is slippery when wet sad

A riven slate or stone would be safer, but heavy and you might not like the look of it.

Hmm annoying since in the shop they had the tiles on the walls and on the floor so it's rather misleading. But we have two DSs seven and five and so we would be asking for trouble wouldn't we.

Back to the drawing board sad

We have floor tiles, not as shiny and they are fine, cold in winter but we put a non slip mat next to the shower and one by the sink. I have a lot of them as they get thrown through the wash often. No one has ever slipped yet.
