Can you have a look at this house, the pictures and the drawings, and tell me if it makes any sense at all?

Yep.

Makes plenty of sense to me

They have added a mezzanine to the master bedroom by using up part of the attic space.

Who would turn the master bedroom into a massive staircase? A massive staircase that leads up to a narrow galley that overlooks the other rooms on the first floor?

(aside from SecretNutella, that is Wink )

I like it.

They have added a staircase in the master bedroom, which makes the room too small for anything else but a wardrobe, or a single bed, at a push..

gawdknows!

the stairs to the gallery are in one of the bedrooms...what can that area be used for? It's wasted space really...maybe a teen room with extra space? But it also has the ensuite!

have you been to see it...maybe it works in real life.

QuintessentialyHollow · 28/01/2012 22:02

I havent been to see it. But look at the size of the third bedroom, and it has NO WINDOW!

SecretNutellaFix · 28/01/2012 22:02

Maybe they use the space as a library/study area?

It looks like there are skylights

Report
SecretNutellaFix · 28/01/2012 22:03

Quint- they have 4 built in cupboards in the master bedroom. No shortage of space

Report
QuintessentialyHollow · 28/01/2012 22:03

I think the skylight must be in the gallery! Try mentally superimpose the gallery over the first floor...

I had not noticed the no window.

and is the whole place really only 11 ft wide?

Report
SecretNutellaFix · 28/01/2012 22:05

It's directly above the front bedroom, but set back a little from the front of the house, as there is a sky light over the front there, but not in the gallery

Report
QuintessentialyHollow · 28/01/2012 22:06

The skylight, if you look at the bedroom that now holds the staircase is visible, because they have taken away the floor of the loft, to make the gallery.

What holds the floors up, if they have removed all internal walls downstairs, and the ceiling/floor in the loft?

and the bedroom with the white linen, and pink chair...looks like it is on the ground floor....double doors and a fence view.

Totally weird and the estate agents must be lying. Quiet road - that near a rail line? Also strange stuff in the garden - think you would be paying over the top for someone else curiosities.

SecretNutellaFix · 28/01/2012 22:09

Possibly some very strong beams. and a prayer.

Catsmamma- that is the back bedroom- it has double doors.

Report
Catsmamma · 28/01/2012 22:10

must be a high fence! :D

Never even consider a house where the EA details don't show you the front elevation.

Bedroom 3 appears to have no windows, nor does the main functioning area of the kitchen.

It looks like a tiny mews house which has been badly fiddled about with.

I still can't get over the price

We own 2 houses and put together they are probably worth just over half of that.

It is a very strange property. Shame, because it is in a very nice neighborhood.

It is very quiet actually. We lived there for a week on a short let before moving in to our current rented property.
