What do you think of moving in an exams year?

It suits our buyer to complete after January. Should we rent somewhere from say Christmas and move to our new home in July? Will this avoid disrupting the exam flow?

Has anyone moved in an exam year? What would you do?

Thanks in advance!

Will your child/ren be at the same school? If they will, it's not ideal I suppose, but not terrible.

If you can keep them at the same school, then it's not ideal but do it if you have to.

Don't move their school at this point Shock!

Thanks, coastgirl and bigTillyM, yes everything will be the same, and we'd rent somewhere nearby too.

Sounds worth thinking about, it's just that DCs have lived here all their lives. Although they are excited about a new place, none of us know how much it'll 'matter', really. Hence hoping for wisdom of others who have done this sort of thing.

Will you be moving school? if so then wait.
If you are not moving school or town then it will have far less impact on the children thAn you think. It will not be a big deal to them, especially as I presume they are teenagers.
as long as you prioritize their rooms and an Internet connection they will be fine

Thanks 7to25, you're right, moving school would totally terrify me, never mind them. We're looking at local lets, so it's a 'different bus stop' level of change. Very assuring, good point about internet and personal space!
