Plumber replacing leaking toilet - who disposes of it?

If a plumber replaces your leaking toilet with a new one, would you normally expect them to take the old toilet and dispose of it?

I would make it part of the agreement. I've been caught by this sort of thing too many times.

I wouldn't expect the plumber to get rid of it, but I would arrange it.

Plumber left old toilet outside my house whilst he was fixing new so only then I realised we never discussed what to do with it. I assumed I would have to take it to the tip but after he left I looked outside the window and toilet was gone. I'm just so pleased.

Many tradesmen won't take waste for you as they have to pay to dispose of it at the tip. Unless you ensure they plan to remove it, and they may factor the disposal into the costing.

RachelHRD, believe you me, nobody would have taken that toilet, that's why I'm in awe the plumber did!!!
