Wireless burglar alarms

Just been burgled and now need to get an alarm. Can anyone recommend a good one - the police won't name brands and when I google it the only info is on websites for security conscious men who go into a lot of detail and all want alarms that cost about 2k! I was hoping to pay no more than about 300 quid plus fitting.

Thanks

Dh bought ours for £200 and fit it himself in a morning, includes sensors for doors/windows (3 I think, though you can buy extra separately). It calls your mobile if it is set off and you can turn it off via mobile too. Has been excellent so far (and no break-ins yet!). I would link to it but can't get the B&Q website to work at the moment.

I looked in yellow pages for the town to get my sisters one a while back, needed it quick really so had to take pot luck, but the bloke came round and fitted a wireless alarm with a remote which you could link to your phone (can't remember if you could switch on and off wiht mobile, sounds good idea though). It worked fine and cost about two hundred or two fifty.

Just tried it again. Pretty sure this is the one we have, though it's £269: Response alarm

Thanks everyone - the advice is much appreciated. The one that was linked to looks just the sort of thing I was after.

we have a wireless Yale unit, plus some separate sensor alarms for a few key windows. Dh fit it himself and I don't think we spent more than £150 in all.
