Anyone used Express Bifold doors?

Hi

Been getting quotes for bifold doors and matching windows. We like what this company have to offer and price seems reasonable. We found them on the web and as it's such a lot of money, I just wanted to ask if anyone had any experience of using them before placing our order? Would feel happier knowing others have had a good service/product from them before parting with our cash.

I got a quote from them, their price was very high and it was accompanied by a video clip of what would happen if I used an inferior product. I didn't like their scare tactics.

Thanks for your reply, what a strange sales pitch! They have been pretty good with us but we were concerned as saw mixed reviews on web about them

Do you mind if i ask if you found an alternative supplier?

The builder found our supplier and it came in as part of the quote. I know it was a local company though and generally I think that's a better route, ask around....Aluminuim windows and doors are not specialist items anymore.

Thanks again, our builder has recommended 2 others to try so will quotes from them. Starting to feel lukewarm towards Express. Trouble is now lots of people are making these products and selling via web it's harder to spot the rip offs IYKWIM!

Yes, had them installed last month and very pleased with them. Recommended by our builders son who did loads of research. Original guy who was due to measure our house double booked his diary and when we complained, one of the senior staff drove through the night to get to us for 9am the following day. Excellent service.

I paid my deposit and a month later they still had not gone into production.
they mis-measured the job, and got their quote wrong, and then wanted to put it up by 20%. Then they decided that they couldn't supply everything that they had sold me. I have had to check and recheck everything that they have done. A massive waste of my time, because they didn't do their job correctly. Now I am told that I have to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery, when they initially said 4weeks. i know have to live in a house full of holes until they come and install my revised order.
I hope that they can redeem themselves when it comes to installation.
Think twice, as not all their staff know what they are doing.
I am left with the feeling that they would struggle to order a drink in a pub.

i have just used a company called, CRC roof lanterns & Bifolding doors, they are based in Driffield on the east coast and manufacture aluminium roofs and bifolding doors and install nationwide, they are brilliant and a lot, lot cheaper, I did my unborn baby's room with the money I saved ( how the hell is that possible !!!! ) and its the same door system

We had a quote off them a few months ago. Just an online one, not someone coming round to measure. They now regularly phone me asking if we're ready to order, telling me how busy they are so better order soon. Even though I've told them we don't want them, they still keep phoning. Very annoying.

Nope, haven't used them. We used Britelite for our patio doors (sliding) and they reduced price from £2,200 to about £1750 due to special promotion. Only had them a few weeks but very happy with them so far.

Avoid this company we had 4 fold bi-fold door supplied by them, the glass misted within 2 years, and the locked failed within 3 years. No assistance from the company, whatsoever, just additional cost to come and inspect the problem £250+VAT, and then £250+ VAT for both coming to take the problem piece away and another £250+VAT to replace the piece when fixed?

Quoted material, locks, etc had 12 month warranty not the 10 years as quoted on the marketing material or website.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My experience with express bi fold doors in Leeds is also bad. When I went into the showroom a man approached me and asked what I was looking for, when I told him I wanted some sliding doors and windows he told me he would get someone who 'deals with women' to one talk to me! When my builder placed an order using the product list I had chosen - they sent the wrong doors... I would avoid this company st all costs.

Hi Have to say totally different from my own experience, i couldn't speak more highly of Express.

I had a 3 panel door system installed, they weren't the cheapest but couldn't find another system that could be made to the same sizes as they could make.

We saw them earlier this year at the Ideal Home Show. We did get a quote for bifolds & windows but after googling reviews decided against proceeding. What I'm puzzled about is how can a company with such a negative reputation get to present at the Ideal Home Show & similar exhibitions?

many thanks Vicky lainey for recommending , CRC roof lanterns and aluminium bifolding doors, they have just done my bi folds and roof lantern, amazing price, amazing company they are so polite and friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and get exactly what you want, A++++++ from me and would highly recommend.

We bought our sliding doors from Express Doors Leeds. The sales guy - Luke - was very knoweldgable and patient but we have had lots of problems with installation - needed two visits to fit them - two lots of installation costs - one of the doors was slightly damaged during installation - there was a sharp edge left on a metal part which we had to push Express to provide a cap to cover the sharp edges - and now we have water in one of the channels inside the house. The doors are Schucco and are lovely doors but we havent felt looked after by Express. The earliest they can come and look at the water sitting in the track that we reported yesterday is February so dont expect a prompt response to problems that arise! Would we buy from Express again ? - we don't think so ! We would probably go for a smaller more personal company next time.
