we have to change the name of our new house, it has an has 7 (ish) oak trees in the front garden... I'm thinking something oak or acorn related. But can't think of anything good, can you help. The next but one neighbour is little oaks.

Thanks.

Quercus (latin for oak) and sounds quirky

Because the neighbours call theirs Little Oaks I'd be inclined to call yours Bigger Oaks. Big Oaks sounds a bit too one-upmanship I think.

Think I wouldn't bother naming a new house - it's a bit naff.

Betty - Some villages have no numbers at all....so you have to name your house.

Anything with acorn in sounds like a preschool.

Thor House - apparently norse legend is that Thor sheltered under an Oak tree during a thunder storm and so having an Oak tree or acorn is said to prevent a house being struck by lightening which is why you sometimes see acorn blind pulls.

What kind of house is it? I like Oakwood House.

It's not a new house, dh and I really don't like the current name. It's sort of georgian looking.

Thanks for suggestions, quite like The Acorns :)

It's a bit of a palaver to change a house name. The existing name must be quite unpleasant to make it worth the effort.

Acorn Bank
Oak fields
La Maison des Chenes (French for Oak house Grin)

Must be a big garden if it can take 7oaks, we'd struggle to fit an ornamental cherry in ours.

The trees are in the front garden, it's got quite a long drive way.
