Trying to choose flooring for new kitchen - liked the look of Amtico till I saw the price. Has anyone any experience of Tileloc - it looks like a reasonably priced alternative??

We had it when it first came out and it was excellent. really hardwearing and easy to clean. Bought some more about 3yrs ago when we rearranged the kitchen and the newer stuff didn't seem as good. Cheaper and seemed more inclined to scratch.

The aqualoc was awful stuff - it absorbed water between the boards causing swelling - not a good look - not sure about the tileloc - I liked vinyl tiles much better - put down hardboard & use a smoothing compound - it looked fine - we used a homebase version - to cover the aqualoc!

We put it down in our last house, it was fine. I squirted dettol direct floor cleaner onto it then cleaned it with a flat mop all the time (had a young child who ate in the kitchen)

The only slight issue we had was that we couldn't align every single grout line up, so where one lined up perfectly, one was very very slightly out. When stood up you couldn't see this but it was a wee bit frustrating when laying it (to you, to me, to you senario when you start a row)

We are perfectionists so it jarred a little, but to be honest, there are worse things in life Grin
