Yikes - we've just been gazumped!

EA's have just rang to say that the offer that had been accepted last week has now been matched by a chain free buyer so the seller has agreed to accept that instead. He didn't ask us to up our offer (not sure we would have done anyway) so it seems genuine.

Not a big deal in the scheme of things (it was a compromise house, but in the great school catcment area) so we'll just keep looking and hoping that something better comes up soon...

oh no! how annoying, no matter how much you were compromising on the house.

The perfect house will come up instead!! Great believer in what's meant to be!!

Yes me too (usually!)

It was a compromise but we thought we could work with it and improve it, especially as we'd got it at a good price.

Can't really believe it's happened in this rubbish market!!

Gah - all in a quandary now as need to be somewhere soon-ish to do primary application.

Still, it's not a big deal. We hadn't shelled out any cash to sols yet so not out of pocket.

We've been gazumped twice on our house search so far :(. In our area there is still a real shortage of property (particularly family houses) on the market and so we are finding that anything decently priced and in good school catchments goes very quickly. It's very disheartening.
