B&Q Cooke & Lewis kitchens - how much discount did you get?

I read through some old posts (March) about these kitchens and wanted to ask what kind of discount people got? I have been quoted approx £8500-9000 and this apparently already includes their current 20% off promotion (20% off doors and fronts of drawers etc rather than all). Is it worth pushing for more? What level of discount did anyone manage to get?

Am happy with their design etc and am getting it supply only as I have my own person to fit so would the discount change?

THANKS

Can I ask how big your kitchen is or how many units that covers? Seems a lot to me but your kitchen may be huge. Does that include appliances?

Hi, Yes, it is fairly big but also I am replacing what is in the utility room too. The price includes integrated fridge and dishwasher (as they price matched those) and I am still looking at a cooker.
Prices they have shown seem to match their catalogue - then 20% off. but the 20% off would apply however big or small the order so should I ask (and expect to get) a bigger discount?
thanks

The best way to get a bigger discount is to go around other kitchen providers and get quotes from them as well. Knowing what other providers are willing to charge you gives you a far more leverage.

I doubt your actually getting 20% off. They just increase the price by 20% then say they are giving you money off. A few years ago we bought a kitchen from them. I had a pre sale brochure and a sale brochure and they were the same price. B&q do a discount card for over 60 year olds to get 10% off. Think it's called a diamond card. Also you could see about opening a trade account with them which might get you some discount. My dad has a trade account but not 100% sure if kitchens are included.

Sorry to say but personally I wouldn't get another kitchen from them. The quality is rubbish.

Thanks for the comments. I take your point about the adding a percentage on before taking it off again - so a false reduction! My mum is an OAP but too far away to ask her to get it for me.
There was another conversation from March 2011 saying people got £££ off so was just wondering what type of amount anyone actually got off the offered price.

Make sure your fitter has a Tradepoint card with B&Q and get him to get a quote for trade.

Just been to Howdens and then B&Q - Cooke & Lewis kitchens are definitely Howdens so worth getting a quote from them if you know a fitter with an account there?

I second the comment about TradePoint at B&Q, the trade discount is huge.
