Sanderson dandelion clocks in John Lewis

We are redecorating the sitting room.

DH and I both really liked this print when we saw it last year and thought we would use it for curtains now we are redecorating.

However now it seems to be EVERYWHERE. We are buying a sofa from John Lewis too and I worry slightly that it is already a bit ubiquitous and we will just look like a window display.

Or is it just because I have noticed it and now notice everywhere.

Your thoughts please

link not working

I think it must be a bit everywhere as I know nothing about curtains but I know exactly which material you mean without looking at the link. We thought about the same for our bedroom curtains but didn't in the end.

It is everywhere. I wanted to do one wall of my kitchen in the wallpaper but am so glad I haven't. What did it was MIL telling me her friend has it in her bedroom.

It really is everywhere. It's going to look very dated in couple of years so I would only use it on something I could replace easily like cushions.

Bugger, that's what I thought - now how do I persuade DH to have something else. He has his heart set on it, won't look at anything else and says I worry too much about what other people think Hmm

It doesn't just look dated already - it looks like you haven't got your own taste.

May I recommend a lovely toile in green or red?

You could go for something similar,.but not so ubiquitous.

Maybe not gooseberry but really not my thing.

the dandelions were awful about a day after it started Confused you could just see where it was going

the toile is lovely, but has none of the mid-century-modern that makes the dandelion print so attractive.
Does Sanderson do this print in any other colourways that are not stocked by John Lewis? If so, these will be less popular

We are getting this sofa.

So it needs to be a complementing pattern

7to25 They do lots of colourways but it's the pattern that's so recognisable I fear.

Have you looked at The Natural Curtain Company?

We have their roman blinds in Kuta. May be a bit trad for you though. They have a sort of relationship with sofa.com too.

Great service though. And you can buy fabric too.

Ooh gorgeous sofa! (I xposted)

The dandelions would cheapen it.

I love the dandelion clocks though. But it does seem to be everywhere.

Hi,sorry,
I have just been on the Sanderson website and there are wonderful fabrics on there with the same feel as the dandelions and also dandelions in an alternative colourway. Worth a browse.
The buyers at John Lewis do a fantastic job of featuring fabrics with mass appeal. there are other gems out there! have a look at Romo fabrics, one of my favourites.

I'd have a look at marimekko fabric with that sofa.
V nice - and agree the dandelions would cheapen it.

I have bought v expensive curtains (laura ashley) & although they are lovely I do wish I had spent less so that I could have afforded to change them as they dictate the entire colourway & feel of the room. I'd get a plainer fabric and bring pattern in with cushions etc. As it is DH & I are having a curtain each as a shroud when we kark it.
