Worst Estate Agent photos/details

Having spent literally months of my life trawling Zoopla, Rightmove and all the other property sites, I thought it was about time I publicised the work of some of London's finest estate agents - who obviously haven't yet worked out the point of the internet - and manage to advertise houses with an ineptitude which both baffles and astounds in equal measure.
Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression Grin and punters are paying 1%-3% of the selling price for these "adverts".

So here's a few of my recent 'favourites' - would love to see yours too!

Is there a charge for extra pictures?

A cracking HOUSE for £225k in Shepherds Bush!

Is it possible to say any LESS about this one?
www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/11234914?search_identifier=76f735c1d33fc8261d36d34121d353cf

This one comes with its own shopping centre:

These are only the tip of the iceberg and not a patch on some of the ones I've seen - I'll add them as I see them if anybody's interested.

Yes, I think this has the makings of a classic thread if we all contribute something!

Thanks PaganofBologna - how did you do that? I thoight clicking the 'convert links automatically' would work but it didn't.

I reckon this "detached house" must have more than 2 bedrooms:

I like that this one neglects to mention that although this is advertised as a 3 bed semi, the bathroom is accessed through the largest bedroom - check out the floorplan

(it's on the market with 3 agents now and has been for ages, I wonder why)

the floorplan of that house is bonkers, big bathroom access through bedroom, and 3rd bedroom acess through WC?!

Report
PaganOfBologna · 19/04/2011 17:21

tyler that first one you linked to also has the third bedroom accessed through the WC if you believe the floor plan!!!! I think that is an even bigger crime Shock

Nice photos - perhaps they put the zoom lens on backwards - on the Blair Witch setting.

With the photos alone this one just screams buy me!

Oh no, hang on a minute, they've just shoved the kitchen/ living/ dining area together into a room the size of a postage stamp!

I also came across a property description the other day that boasted of the house being built 'in the reign of george V'. You daft w***s.

The photos for the house we bought were so poor that the house had been on the market for over a year. We came to view it just to rule it out really, yet when we walked in, looked up and saw the vaulted ceiling we decided it was the house for us.

It did mean we got a £250k house for £170k. :o

Good thread - these lot in Southport selling my parents disabled adapted 2 bed apartment www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31380179.html - Southport is a retirement area, with a lot of disabled people, as the town itself is great for wheelchair users - but these muppets didn't have the foresight to see that its excellent adaption was actually a selling pointHmm

even the picture here is the one I photoshopped & added some "sun & blue sky " to, as in its original form it showed a huge big black storm cloud & was so grey & dark it looked like something from Amytiville horrorConfused - details were all wrong, all pictures included captions as to how it could be converted back for "normal" usageHmm & they forced my parents into dropping the price right down to half Angry-

the other photos were unbelievable - they actually went in & took photos the day before my Brother was organising the removal of the last of the furniture they'd left behind - even though they were told to wait - naturally it was just dumped in there & they posted photos out of focus & badly poised, making the house look like Steptoes yardShock they took pictures of HALF the rooms, making them look tiny - when they are big, but weren't doing it to avoid the furnitureConfused - it looked like someone elses dark dingy & dirty house, not the one my parents had just left, having had it freshly decorated to sellConfused

My Dad rang & asked me to take a look into what was going on, I was FUMING when I saw what these muppets had done - p's me off still too see its still on their site as a possible "sold' Angry it was taken off their books because they were so crapHmm

HAHA, Rightmove are coming out well on this aren't they - wish I'd know that BEFORE my Parents tried to use them Grin

Rightmove aren't an estate agent, they're just a portal where estate agents display properties online. Seeing as that's just about everybody it's not surprising that nearly all of the links given are rightmove!

beautiful lounge

wooden ceilings in an ex local authority house nice. We actually went to view this one, and it was terrifying - no floor in the main bedroom, and the bathroom was a building site. No garden either. Odd place.

descriptive photos

We saw one description that said a room was 58 ft by 0.1 ft :o I emailed the estate agents and it was swiftly changed to 5 ft 8 by 10 ft :o

Hello, I'm adding nothing constructive or entertaining except to say that in my experience the worst estate agents are Foxtons.

Nothing to do with the thread, I simply like to make this public as often as I canGrin
