What flooring?

I have on order a red gloss kitchen, white quartz worktops that have a small amount of mirrored flack in the stone (very reflective and pretty imo but not ott at all)

I am thinking about flooring and whether to have upstands or wall tiles. The fella who is making the worktops will ensure he has enough quartz so I can decide on the day about upstands if I'm still unsure.

Opinions please Smile

Thanks.

I don't even know what upstands are but your kitchen sounds divine!

With a modern kitchen such as yours will be (agree it sounds fab!) I would def go for upstands and possibly a glass or stainless steel splashback rather than tiles, i think tiles (on the wall) would spoil the contemporary look.

On the floor, you want something light-ish coloured I would have thought- maybe oak engineered wood, or oak-style amtico/karndean? Or ceramic style Karndean or Amtico?

I was wondering about wood or wood style too.....didn't know if it would 'work' though.

The guy making the tops for me (fab local bloke who cuts his own, amazing seeing him at work in his workshop!) said about a glass splashbacks above an upstand but I was a little unsure but quite like the idea. I am a tad worried about how the walls will be after the current (awful dark navy blue and not my work) tiles have been removed...

Thanks for the positive comments....I can't wait to have it done now Grin
