Just had a look at the US site. We get a poxy keyboard-less Kindle. They get the Kindle Touch with a touch screen and the Kindle Fire which is colour. Sods.

The saem is only $79 in the US, not fair it's so much more here.

i am tempted with a kindle but you know how when you have a good book you can see how much you have to read because of the chunkyness and where your book markis - well how does that work with your kindle - you must have no idea when the end is near?

you have a percentage bar at the bottom, it tells you you've read 50% for example.

Spec isn't as good on the new cheap kindle

It has a shorter battery life!

Less space too

I was tempted til I realised that. That's why it's cheaper!

I was really tempted to put it to the top of my Christmas wish list until I read about the kindle touch that's going on sale in the US but not here. sad Meh.

so on this £89 jobbie, how long does the battery last andhowmany books could you get on it?

Ooh look at the Kindle Fire - that looks rather nice (shame I am not in the US obviously)

There's a comparison here - the new one has one month battery and stores 1,400 books whereas other one is two month battery and 3,500 books.
