Sick of scratchy threadbare ones. Best we've got is John Lewis Egyptian cotton - any other suggestions?

I got some christy ones for my wedding 11.5 yrs ago and hey are still fluffy & absorbant

We had some M&S ones for our wedding 10 years ago and they still are soft and fluffy. Don't know whether the fact I always use fabric softener, line-dry them and never tumble dry makes any difference.

White Co. have a sale on so I've ordered some of theirs - cheaper than JLewis at the mo - thanks all

Peacock blue do EXCELLENT towels... as good if not better than the white company (about same expensive price)

I have used both types and my bath towel is peacock blue and myfav towel ever!

Fabric softener ruins the absorbency of towels posey. If they're good now, imagine what they'd be like without it!

Well we seem to get dry perfectly well with fabric softened towels, and personally I prefer them to towels that are stiff and scratchy.

Maybe I'm just a masochist then. (Seven years of all girls' boarding school to blame.)

tumble drying should make them fluffy and soft, and instead of using fabric conditioner white vinegar keeps them soft too, and absorbant.....
