particularly like the bit about Ideal for lightening a dark corner

NotQuiteCockney Tue 21-Jun-05 13:07:11

Gah. They're maybe even creepier than the Baby Born ones ...

nailpolish Tue 21-Jun-05 13:07:18

have seen them in the shops and think they are horrible. dd1 walked up to one and got the fright of her life when it toppled over. nearly gave an elderly man a heart attack too

Marina Tue 21-Jun-05 13:09:11

Enid, please do tell me what you were Googling for when you unearthed this alarming site...or did you get it off Popbitch
Nailpolish I shouldn't laugh but your poor dd1 and that poor old guy

starlover Tue 21-Jun-05 13:10:02

SoupDragon Tue 21-Jun-05 13:10:07

nailpolish Tue 21-Jun-05 13:10:09

nailpolish Tue 21-Jun-05 13:10:37

LOL at soupdragon!!!!!!!!

assumedname Tue 21-Jun-05 13:10:49

Truly weird.

SoupDragon Tue 21-Jun-05 13:11:32

Well, there were lots of still children staring in my direction today so they might. Going by that evidence, there were some adult versions too.

beachyhead Tue 21-Jun-05 13:12:36

You could put one in the sitting room and pretend you've adopted a kid to freak out your LO's.....

now who's a bad mummy

nailpolish Tue 21-Jun-05 13:14:51

PMSL! soupdragon you are hilarious.

marthamoo Tue 21-Jun-05 13:15:57

Those are so creepy. What kind of weirdo would want something like that?

(Loads of regular MNers will now change their names to say they have one and they're very insulted )

Lonelymum Tue 21-Jun-05 13:16:08

What on earth is the point? Just another thing to dust IMO.

SoupDragon Tue 21-Jun-05 13:26:40

Oh what a wonderful thought - a child that you simply have to dust occasionally.... hell, get a cleaner and you wouldn't even have to do that much.

Marina Tue 21-Jun-05 13:30:57

oh I suspected as such. They have had some bizarre aite links recently

nailpolish Tue 21-Jun-05 13:30:59

soupdragon have just sprayed my black cherry yoghurt all over the monitor thanks to you. you crack me up.

SoupDragon Tue 21-Jun-05 13:31:22

I do my best

Ulysees Tue 21-Jun-05 13:45:16

They're so horrid. Do they have faces?

oliveoil Tue 21-Jun-05 13:45:53

They should bring out a range: Tantrum kid (purple face), The Gina (smug contented smile) etc etc

Marina Tue 21-Jun-05 13:56:43

I've just had a nasty flashback to the "child" with the gas-mask on in the Blitz two-parter of Dr Who

SoupDragon Tue 21-Jun-05 13:57:24

DSs were wandering round last night saying "Have you seen my mummy?". Freaked me out completely.

Marina Tue 21-Jun-05 13:58:41

Our normally titanium-nerved ds asked us to turn it off, which we did immediately, feeling dreadful about letting him see even some of that episode. We somehow missed the age-related warning. I was not sorry to miss the rest of it either Soupy
