My USB slippers arrived this morning and I am so happy:

Bought some off Ebay for a tenner

My feet are TOASTY and I'm not having to balance a hot water bottle between my knees for once.

Ohhh I have Raynauds Disease.

Am sitting here blue as it happens now!

Will have a look at theses.

any gloves LOL

morningpaper Tue 20-Oct-09 12:16:38

YES I also have some USB fingerless gloves on order!!!!!

e.g. here

I am going to spend the winter typing away in a little hot USB cocoon!

OhYouBadBadKitten Tue 20-Oct-09 12:22:37

lol!! You'll have to report back and let us know if they provoke chilblains

<scratches toes violently>

morningpaper Tue 20-Oct-09 12:25:10

oh great chilblains, don't make me worry about THAT instead

I feel like I've wee-ed on my feet

NorbertDentressangle Tue 20-Oct-09 12:27:02

OK, I admit it, I clicked on this ready to mock, point and laugh but now that I know there's a gloves option (and I suffer from Reynaulds in my hands) I'm quite interested blush

Blackduck Tue 20-Oct-09 12:38:21

Me too norbert - my hands are currently blue and I am thinking of putting gloves on...

NorbertDentressangle Tue 20-Oct-09 13:33:32

I can recommend staying in bed to keep warm!

I actually went back to bed 10mins after getting up as I felt ill and have only just got up, showered and dressed.

It was lovely and cosy MNing in bed with the laptop

Blackduck Tue 20-Oct-09 13:35:16

I have wrapped my hands round a cup of tea....Have decided I need a job, because at least I'd be in a warm office grin

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat Tue 20-Oct-09 13:39:37

I think this is what i started getting last winter.
Two fingers on my left hand went very numb and pale when cold.
Is this Reynauds? Will it get worse this year?

USB gloves sound great.
Also had chilblains last year for the first time!

NorbertDentressangle Tue 20-Oct-09 13:41:20

I'm also now eating a bowl of porridge which I'm cupping in my hands to keep them from going blue/white.

<<Blackduck -any joy on the house front?>>

NorbertDentressangle Tue 20-Oct-09 13:42:27

Tortoise -that does sound like it. They go cold, white, numb the tingly as the sensation comes back. Varying amounts of pain/discomfort

frakula Tue 20-Oct-09 13:48:14

And me with the hands, possibly starting on my feet too!

Am quite intrigued by these slippers...

MuppetsMuggle Tue 20-Oct-09 14:00:54

I have it in my hands, feet and face

I have to wear about 10 layers just to keep my body warm, have to wear very thick socks and slippers, woolly hat and gloves, have yet to find a decent fingerless pair tho.

Blackduck Tue 20-Oct-09 14:01:13

<<norbs, no, no luck on house front....bummer, having front door painted in hope..>>

I have been known to sit with my hands in my armpits to bring back the circulation!! It works, honest grin

MuppetsMuggle Tue 20-Oct-09 14:03:20

I have an addiction to cups of tea, mainly to keep my hands warm.

Also tend to have at least 2 baths a day.

Norbert Yes that sounds like me fingers. So is it likely to get worse? Or isn't it that predictable?

morningpaper Thu 22-Oct-09 19:59:35

Well last night I got a massive electric shock and now one slipper (and nearly one morningpaper) is dead

I am sending them back for a replacement (because I live on the edge)

NorbertDentressangle Thu 22-Oct-09 20:48:50

Are you serious?!

morningpaper Thu 22-Oct-09 21:04:23

NorbertDentressangle Thu 22-Oct-09 21:06:53

A replacement though?!

You should be suing (SP?) their arses.

I can recommend a good lawyer.

morningpaper Thu 22-Oct-09 21:10:36

I could send them to Nick Griffin

they were good until I got a Big Shock

NorbertDentressangle Thu 22-Oct-09 21:24:00

Maybe they do a full body version for him?

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat Fri 23-Oct-09 09:26:18

Think i would send them back and buy more from someone/somewhere else!
