just a starter kit as I've only been to the golf range a couple of times and don't know if I'm as keen as dp..but I'm giving it a go

Have a look on thegolfhq website. My DH buys LOTS from there, have to admit it does seem good value. Buy fairly decent stuff, if you don't like it you'll get more back when you sell it, it you do like it, it saves you buying a "better" set.

HTH.

got some lovely size 6 white and navy ladies golf shoes here...practically new as i couldnt get a good back swing past my growing bump

we also have a practice chipping mat(great for getting some extra practice in back garden!

and must have some books somewere on perfecting your technique....
will have a look if your interested?

most jjb stores sell decent priced golf stuf and if you have a sport and soccer..their Donnay clubs are ideal for a beginner!
also try the pro shops at golf club..they normally sell stuff thats been traded in for new equiptment

When dh and I started, the golf club had a scheme where you just bought one club to start with then added to the set as you progressed with lessons. Dh is the proud owner of three clubs and my solitary one is lurking at the back of the wardrobe.

Try e-bay. A few of the golfers DH plays with get a fair bit of their stuff from their. Apparantly it can be very good, and great prices.

They use an online website too...will see if I can find it.

what is the one club I need?

I think this is not likely to last as far as I'm concerned but I'm happy to give it a go and I'm sure I will enjoy it more than snowboarding!!

Think it is something like direct golf

You have to buy a shag bag, if only so you have to type it into Google to find out what it is

Thank you for replies so far, another new language to learn SD. I was supposed to get something golfish for my birthday but thought that was coming up in a fortnight but discovered I got the weeks wrong and it is sooner than I thought.

get an 8 iron to start with and practice your chip shots..could also get a putter too(both about £5 pound each in sport and soccer)

Great that sounds economical - I hate buying stuff that ends up wasted.
