I could have sworn they were everywhere when DD1 was a baby but now I just can't find any.

Are they no longer the thing to use or is just cos I'm stupid

I've seen them online, Nimme. I'll have a look for you!

Thanks I've been searching forever - even looked at e-bay!

there's one at Urchin (scroll down) but at £42.95 it seems a bit expensive. We got ours from John Lewis and I'm sure it was cheaper than that. It was really worth it though - we love ours and it washes really well!

one here - £34. Will look for more.

cupcakes - many thanks. Looks like I have been stupid - should have looked for lambskin

here's the John Lewis one. £35.

JanH, definitely been stupid.

This is why I love Mumsnet - the questions I have asked and always an answer

Not stupid - we call ours a sheepskin too.

cupcakes - how do you wash (managed to ruin last one in washing machine )

Janh Fri 06-May-05 21:35:39

£20 for a "pram liner" (scroll to bottom) but looks like no cutouts for straps.

cool wool wash in machine, add glycerin in final rinse (keeps skin soft) and line dry on warm windy day. No heat!

That wasn't stupid Nimme, I looked for sheepskin first too (used to call ours "sheepy" )

We put ours in the washing machine! We also have one that used to go in her cot and I slightly ruined that by hanging it over the towel rail by the radiator - it dried out the back and is now rather stiff. Our seat liner goes through the machine at a low temp then either out on the line or in the tumble drier (as recommended on the packaging!)
See that the Urchin one includes a bottle of lambskin shampoo - maybe they recommend handwashing.

No no - too much choice now
