Wonder if you can still take it back after 3 months if you don't like it !?

GeorginaA Thu 05-May-05 10:20:40

Wow - mainstream now!

KatieMac Thu 05-May-05 20:38:49

I have a rubber allergy - do you think it's worth a try?

sparklymieow Thu 05-May-05 20:39:55

WideWebWitch Thu 05-May-05 20:40:36

Munchkinola Thu 05-May-05 20:40:37

I saw these last week and grinned cos I knew what they were thanks to mumsnet.

Munchkinola Thu 05-May-05 20:40:51

Louise1980 Thu 05-May-05 20:41:23

Munchkinola Thu 05-May-05 20:44:21

hellomama Thu 05-May-05 20:46:52

i've just bought one but haven't used it yet. Am almost looking forward to next period so I can try it out... now that is sad!

Tissy Thu 05-May-05 21:17:12

Katiemac, mooncups are silicone, so you should have no problem at all go for it!

marthamoo Thu 05-May-05 22:16:30

www, yes, Munchkinola is right - £19.99. They are with the tampons and they have both styles (don't think that's the right word). One for passages unaltered by the rigours of childbirth, and a giant industrial sized model for the rest of us who are stretched all to hell .

They said on the website you can put it in your dishwasher!

Can you imagine, a posh dinner party for vegetarians...

"I thought you said there was no meat in this... it looks a bit like liver!"

spod Thu 05-May-05 22:23:33

so, do these work then? messy? leakage? convenient? does one just shove it in and forget about it? is it comfy?

marthamoo Fri 06-May-05 09:18:32

spod, archived threads is down at the moment or I'd do you a link - just put mooncup in, I expect a lot of threads will come up!

I tried one and didn't like it but a lot of people swear by them.

Louise1980 Sat 07-May-05 16:40:25

SO then Im goin to have to go into child mode now but URGH!!!!
You want me to stick one of those in my minnie?

Childish bit over. I find them very strange. Have enough trouble with tampons nevermind having tupperware up there!

Louise1980 Sat 07-May-05 16:47:57

Reckon yuoud get one on e-bay? I just read the 'cant believe what they sell on e-bay' thread!

basketcase Sat 07-May-05 16:51:31

Even if I could get past the euuggggh factor, the worry that it would "tip" somehow or shift and let me down puts me off chancing it. Bit expensive to just "have a go" and not got the bottle to take it back if it lets me down

Louise1980 Sat 07-May-05 16:56:47

Same here! The sterilising bit puts me off too! Can you imagine, youd have teh washerman out n he'd look at it oddly n say "'scuse me luv but wtf?" "oh that its just a re-usable tampon" Can you imagint his reaction?!?!?!?!
