Just a quick survey -
1 - DO you have one?
2 - How big is your garden?
3 - Does it dominate and spoil the garden?
4 - Is it worth the money?
5 - How much do your kids really play on it?

Thanks!

Don't have one but want/need one to stop boys climbing on furniture. Friend as the big TP one with the slide and scramble net and says its worth every penny.

I was wondering this too.

Looked at a set with a swing on but am worried that ds will run straight infront of it mid swing and go flying.

1 - DO you have one? YES
2 - How big is your garden? SMALL-ISH (USED TO HAVE BIG ONE)
3 - Does it dominate and spoil the garden? NOTHING TO SPOIL, THE REST IS ROUGH LAWN, AND VEG PLOTS
4 - Is it worth the money? YES WE GOT OURS SECOND HAND, SO EVEN MORE SO
5 - How much do your kids really play on it? THEY USED TO PLAY ON IT EVERY DAY PRE-SCHOOL, NOW (5 AND 7) NOT SO OFTEN. THEY USUALLY PLAY IN THE STREET. BUT VISITORS ALWAYS MAKE A BEELINE FOR IT.

we have a wooden one. The bit that gets used the most is a tyre swing thing. Horizontal tyre anchored to bar on a swivel hook so spins and swings. Much more fun than a swing and less danger of knocking other peoples teeth out!

1. Yes
2. 1/3 acre
3. Kind of and no
4. Yes
5. Quite a lot when they have friends over (they are only 2 and 1). Bigger cousins love it. We sat on the top of it with some beer and watched the fireworks on November 5th. That was good!

We have a TP - the middle one. We could have gone all out for the wooden fort when we lived in the USA, but decided that our garden here in the UK was not big enough. Our garden is very long but only 7m wide, and I like that we can "see through" the TP.

I think it good to have a climbing frame, and the kids love it - even when it is used for chilling out rather than manic climbing. They are very creative with it. Not sure how you evaluate the "value for money" bit, but it was good value for money for us.

One thing to keep in mind, is that the TP range only is good for up to about age 12, although my 13 year old is still able to entertain his siblings (in a charitible sort of way).

1 - yes
2 - med/big
3 - no - kids end of garden (and its wood)
4 - best spend - much better than pink plastic
5 - all the time
Plum products (from costco) cost £500 3 (or 4?) yrs ago. DDs now 7 & 9 & still play on it BUT has big swing set attached so that gets a lot of use as well.

2. Large - need a lawn tractor to mow it
3. No we spent a lot of cash getting a wooden one so that it would look aesthetic
4. Yes
5. Most fine days they will play on it for half hour or so. If friends come around they will play on it for much longer
