Does anyone know what the current situation is with supermarkets accepting vouchers even if you have't bought the products? Sainsbury's used to accept them without question, but the last few times I've tried they've been very sniffy about it.

I've got loads of Sainsbury's coupons for all sorts of products that I'm unlikely to buy -- what's the best way of using them?

I know asda will accept up to 20% of your bill total but only vouchers that aren't other supermarkets (at least I think they still do). They accept them even if you don't buy though.

My local Tesco accept Sainsburys vouchers, although I have found that it can depend on the cashier. I tend to find that the young, male cashiers will scan your coupons no problem whereas sometimes the older ones look through them and won't even scan them. I regularly use Sainsburys coupons at Tesco, as well as manufacturers coupons, and it can really help. Good luck!
