my brother has just moved into a new flat and as it's all open plan there is nowhere to hang washing (he likes it to look aesthetically pleasing!) He is considering hiring a washer/dryer as there is no space for seperate washing machine and tumble dryer. Can anyone recommend a model, offer any advice on if they are efficent, or suggest a reliable hire company in Bristol?

I have just got a Hotpoint Aquarius 650 from Boots web site, it was 350 pounds (almost half of what it costed in Comet or Currys). And they delivered in 2 days. It also comes in aluminium colour, has a large capacity and a setting for automatic stop once the clothes are nearly dry. Though it says that it can go from wash to dry the same quantity of clothes (5kg) is not really that efficient, it works more efficiently if if you set to dry half a load rather than the full one (as in the rest of washer dryers anyways).

Thanks Chandra. I'll pass that on. I think he might be limited in his choice by what is available to hire.

It must be cheaper to buy surely?
