I used to be a member of AA, I had to call them out 3 times over 2 years. After the 3rd call out, I received a letter saying I would be charged a fee if I called them out again
I am now a member with a company through my car insurance but have never had to call them out.

Green Flag or Britannia or one of those are supposed to be better value, rickman.

I will have a look for you, hang on a min.

Have a look at moneysupermarket's recommendations - you put in age of driver and car and level of cover (I have always gone for home breakdown because I have an affinity with flat batteries).

Honest John seems to recommend breakdowndirect.co.uk

I belive the AA have the largest fleet followed closes by RAC. Depends on how long you are prepared to wait, I recently had a flat batter, called the AA and they were with me withing 15 mins, think that is pretty good. Others may be cheaper, but you may have to wait longer.
