Quinny Dreami - OK as moses basket?

Hello! After huge amounts of deliberation we've just bought a Quinny Buzz, Cabrio car seat and Dreami carry cot. (Just been delivered - VERY excited! ). Want to double up Dreami as a moses basket for first few months. Have read on that Dreami is suitable BUT John Lewis said if a carry cot hasn't got holes in the bottom of it then you can't use it as a bed. Now I may be mad but can't see any holes in the bottom of mine. Does anyone know if the Dreami is OK to use? Thanks!

I used ours until dd grew out of it and it was an absolute god send. We got the full kit like you. Very good BTW!

The problem may be the mattress in it. It is advised now to use a ventilated mattress due to risk of cotdeath. Most pram mattresses are not ventilated.

It's ok for use during the day because baby won't be in it for prolonged periods of time like at night... and if something was wrong you would notice.

My dd sleeps in the body of her pram at night. It is fine. If it really worries you get a ventilated mattress for the pram.

Agree, as long as the mattress is breathable it should be fine. Haven't examined the Dreami in detail but they seems pretty substantial to me and are designed to be removed from wheels. The website itself is a bit vague but you could email them at .

Our original Silver Cross carrycot mattress was a plastic covered one (ds did get a bit sweaty) on top of a solid plywood base but I was told by midwife it was fine for him to sleep in, and indeed he did when we went away overnight. Did replace it with a Mothercare "coolmax" one for dd as she was a summer baby.

Wow, I love this website! Thanks to you all for the advice. We'll definitely look into getting a ventilated mattress.
KVG - very pleased with Buzz. Hubby is VERY tall so he's thrilled with the adjustable handle. Just need to hang on another 8 weeks to have a babe to put in it!
