Right, following on from my thread about wooden climbing frames, dh and I have decided that we can't buy what we want so are making one from scratch. I know we're mad, and I just hope ds2 doesn't make an early appearance before it gets done...
Anyway, the question is about slides. I'm horrified by the prices of them! The only ones you can get are about £100 as far as I can see. I want an 8ft or c.2.5m slide, preferably green. Does anyone know of a cheaper brand or source, or have one they want to get rid of?

Where are you Miranda2?

My BIL has a climbing frame and slide combo thing. They have just moved in to a new house and the previous owners left it.
We can't have it as we've no room for it in our garden but they do want rid of it.

I'm in Newcastle - family in Nottingham and near York if that's any help.
DH has now started constructing the wooden tower, and it is looking fab!
