My DS loved the battery operated trains on Brio, especially Thomas. There's bit (points?) with a lever that you can pull to stop the trains. when you push the lever the other way they go again. I know a lot of children prefer pushing the trains round, but mine is a bit of a lazy lump!

the pintoy one is lovely

LOL - thought you were joking about the stealth bomber!

DS has a rechargeable Brio train like this which comes with something very similar to a mobile phone charger.

RAF bases are very noisy - we lived with 3 squadrons of Tornados' regular visits from Eurofighter and countless other planes every day for 5 years.
Wait till they start flying at 2am on "training" and waken your Ds up!

The Brio boat is brilliant because you can use it to bridge gaps in track layout that hasn't worked out, and the trains go inside it (engine and two carriages worth). As you draw up to the boat docking bit, the door opens and the train runs straight back out onto track. It's fab.

ShePeeTeePee Wed 29-Oct-08 09:20:02

Ooh. Boat? Any chance of a link?

Anyone got 'The Works' near them? they have a great range of wooden sets at the moment really good prices to. I think they have a garage/farm/house/airport/fire engine.

Ooh really charlee, thanks for the tip there's one just down the road from us.

ds loves the brio station that lets you record your own announcements, it plays train noises too and is not at all annoying.

Also any of the bridges, tunnels, mountains.

ShePeeTeePee Wed 29-Oct-08 09:32:33

I'm guessing it's probably not this one brio flying boat grin

mrsgboring Wed 29-Oct-08 09:44:28

It turns out it's called the Brio Light and Sounds Ferry
