School uniforms - buying mid-term?

Can someone enlighten me as I'm new to all this. I can understand heavy marketing of school uniforms during the summer in the lead-up to the new school year, but am feeling confused and slightly panicked now by the uniform sales. Is it going to be impossible to buy any more bits of uniform until next summer? I'm assuming my DS will a) grow, b) trash some of his clothing.

I hope its not like trying to buy wellies in August.

I am sure you will be able to buy uniform all year round, its just as widely available.
My kids don't tend to grow much over the year, or maybe its because I buy their uniform slightly too big for them to make it last!
Actually I noticed that Asda have more in stock after the initial rush leading up to September.

I know its often difficult to buy school shoes which is stupid really. Kids attend school all year round, not just in September so surely their shoes should be available.

It will be available, just not in the huge quantities around in the summer.
M&S always have it online.
