DH is going to retile our bathroom and replace the suit but dont want it to look cheap so need help finding stuff that looks nice but wont cost a fortune. Budget will be around £600 for everything..asking a lot arent I
Alsi are about to sell some white suites. Look on their website I don't think they will sell the bath but they are selling weveryting else I think the toliet is about 50, the sink about 35. Not sure about the taps They are very cheap though. You could then get cheap bath from b and q
I bought my suite for £169 from B&Q back in January, it was in the sale so had 30% off but included the taps, toilet, bath, sink, and bath panel.
The taps are basic but look nice, I didn't really want high fashion ones anyway as they date quickly. My reasoning behing this was that a basic bathroom suite is fairly standard, we can but new taps to dress it up in a few years if needs be.
where are you nemo - i'm a interior designer working in london, so can send you links to good, cheap places. you should be able to get a bath and toilet for £55 each. and i've used this sink: http://impulsebathrooms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/monica-b.jpg for a couple of lower budget jobs recently (its about £50) but without the pedestal which i think is ugly. its a good sink because its quite roomy (good for handwashing clothes, and many children brushing teeth simultaneously) and also is elegant but neither too contemp or old fashioned - pleases everyone. if you dont have the pedestal then you sould need a bottle trap, eg: http://www.tapstore.com/acatalog/1.html?gclid=CMT-qti1jZUCFQ2L1QodBDr5fQ which will halp the room feel spacious, modern and "expensive"
also - i would buy a cheap white suite, and cheap white tiles, but bricklay them (ie stagger them) using a dove grey grout - looks really good. like this - but with square tiles: http://www.livingetc.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2540
then spend the rest on the taps.
these are good, and i can get a good discount - http://www.taps4less.com/PP/U-PY304.html
finally, a good trick if you need to dress the window, is to just use glass etc film - easy to apply and much cheaper than replacing glass: http://www.abodewindowfilms.co.uk/acatalog/WindowFilm_opalFrosted.html
