We'd like to buy DD a loose jewel for her birthday that she can then have made into a piece of jewellery when she's older. Where should we look?

There's a shop in Bristol called Crystals that sell loose stones.

Is this it? Doesn't look like they sell online, and I'm in London, unfortunately ... I guess there must be somewhere similar here, if only I knew how to find it!

These people sell loose gemstones and they're in Hatton Garden, London. Scroll down the page a bit for the loose gemstones info.

try ebay although I would suggest going for one of the shops rather than buying from an individual if you are going to buy something nice as you never know what you are buying otherwise.

My aunty bought me a pearl for every birthday and christmas until I was 21 and then she paid to have them strung. She kept hold of them luckily otherwise they would have been lost.
