I know they are old fashioned but I need them for a diy project I am doing

I've not seen Vim in ages, but you can often find Ajax in supermarkets and old-fashioned hardware stores. Though come to think of it I haven't bought any in several years, as last time I bulk-bought.

I think it might not be made anymore - which is a shame as it's a really good scourer (sp?)

I'm sure they must still do Ajax or Vim - those canisters with holes in the tin top - good stuff ! Will look out for it.

"barkeepers friend" may work as a substitute if you can't find them. It's about the only scoury type powder I've seen around. HTH

plain old bicarb of soda is also an excellent scourer

Really - I'd have to buy a huge tub of it

They sell VIM in my local Somerfields. It's not a big tub, though. It's a standard bottle size.

That would be fine (thinking where is Somerfield).....It would just have been a very large tub of Bicarb

I found this thread while searching for Vim, so I thought I'd share the fact that I found it successfully at B&Q and Wilko.

I hope this helps those who were also lookng for it.

VIM can be bought on Amazon. Look under Vim clorex. I got mine for £2.90 (free postage on multiple items over £20.00) Note container is 850 grams. (Old one was 500 grams.) It is currently priced at £3.09.
It is now manufactured in Spain under the German Henkel Group.
I use it for cleaning the shower as I find most modern cleaners expensive & don't do the job. It does NOT damage your tiles etc.
