Isimply cannot walk in shoes that aren't properly attached to my feet

flip flops, mules, slip on sandally things
all a no no

so the sandals I have at the mo which are flat, black and have lots of thin elastiocs across the whole foot AND one round the heel are dying. had them a year and a half and the sole is breaking up.
help me find some new ones

oh and unlike others I am not averse to pink and other colours but I HATE ORANGE

TIA

TrinityRhino Sat 30-Jun-07 12:40:53

what the ones that go up your leg?
hmm dunno, think they wqould be a hassle to put on

<whispers> and aren;t they a bit grannyish anyway?

I have no style so prepared to be wrong

Hi TrinityRhino... I'm with you on proper sandals. I've had some good ones from Clarks in recent years. not sure what they've got in this year or what you want to spend. They do tend to be a bit pricey but last.

I am definatly the wrong person to ask on the sandal front.I seem to gravitate to granny ones and don't trust my judgement anymore.
Will watch thread with interst

I was looking longingly at these the other day, but they only have certain sizes left.

TrinityRhino Sat 30-Jun-07 12:44:16

CarGirl Sat 30-Jun-07 12:45:58

cornsilk Sat 30-Jun-07 12:46:56

You can get birkenstocks from QVC - have some good offers. Postage expensive tho.'

ArtichokeTagine Sat 30-Jun-07 12:47:32

Would these attach to your foot enough?

Or these?http://www.birkenstock.co.uk/index.php?m=catalogue&a=vw_prod&wprid=169

TrinityRhino Sat 30-Jun-07 12:47:39

hmm lol never spent more than a tenner on shoes, sandals or trainers

TrinityRhino Sat 30-Jun-07 12:48:52

they would attach enough but sorry, they are grooooosss

ArtichokeTagine Sat 30-Jun-07 12:54:22

No need to apologies - they are not my shoes - i was just responding to your question "where are birkies?"...

IMO some birkenstoks look great. But only the single strapped ones with bright colours. Some of the others are a bit like a Liberal Democrat local counsellor's fashion choice. I don't mind the thonged ones in the second link though - could be OK in a bright colour.

TrinityRhino Sat 30-Jun-07 13:08:56

peachygirl Sat 30-Jun-07 13:11:14

They are not that bad.. believe me I have spent lots of time perusing sandals as I wear childrens sizes and childrens sandals seem to be designed to last for 6 weeks at the most. I tend to find european ones are the best and most durable so buy them on holiday. I know that if they cost a bit more they will last
