blueamema Wed 17-May-06 16:45:02

never heard of borders!!!

Kathy1972 Wed 17-May-06 16:46:00

It's very posh.
I read an article in it once about bringing up girls and it talked a lot about psychology and Freud but still didn't really say anything.

wh smith have it

KateF Wed 17-May-06 16:46:45

Used to borrow it from a friend-had some interesting articles but havn't seen it around locally so perhaps it's a subscription one.

It does look good but everything in it is ridiculously expensive (as is the magazine!) and it is clearly aimed at those who think children are the lastest must have accessory.

Shame as a 'regular' parenting magazine would be good.

Waitrose stock it.

bundle Wed 17-May-06 16:47:11

some of the articles are interesting, but the magazine is also awash with ridiculously-priced designer lables for toddlers to vomit over...

motherinferior Wed 17-May-06 16:47:25

It doesn't pay very well.

bundle Wed 17-May-06 16:47:57

gem, there was a bbc one but it was shelved..

nailpolish Wed 17-May-06 16:48:00

i used to love the BBC Parenting magazine (actually i really like all BBC mags) but i cant seem to find it any more

unicorn Wed 17-May-06 16:48:40

MI.. and it pays very late too.

bundle Wed 17-May-06 16:48:51

tis gone, naily, bitten the dust

nailpolish Wed 17-May-06 16:49:25

oh FGS

its was a great mag

grrr

blueamema Wed 17-May-06 16:50:04

might give it miss then, thanks guys

any other good suggestions for mags.....

toddler and kids mag would be ideal without all the pregnancy bit as i've done all that bit!!

nailpolish Wed 17-May-06 16:51:21

it is annoying when youve had your baby and you have to flick past all the pg bits

a baby/toddler mag without the pg bits is all i ask for (like yourself bluemama!)

unicorn Wed 17-May-06 16:52:22

think the market is missing something here?
Maybe time for Mumsnet.. 'The Magazine'??????????

(plentiful supply of writers and readers here!)

mythumbelinas Wed 17-May-06 16:52:35

saw it in sainsburys and a sweet shop

PiccadillyCircus Wed 17-May-06 16:52:40

I liked the BBC Parenting magazine as well

Ledodgyherring Wed 17-May-06 16:53:11

Thats a fab idea Unicorn and it could reprint the most interesting threads so no one misses out!

motherinferior Wed 17-May-06 16:56:09

The deputy editor from BBC Parenting now edits a freebie mag called Your Family which is available from the ELC and has contributions from many fine MNers.

I would very much like a parenting mag which was both entertaining and, er, remunerative.
